The Design

St. Sebastian is the patron saint of athletes which means he has a special place for the prayers of martial artists.

Sebastian was a martyr of the early Church, being subject to the punishment of death twice! The first time, Diocletian ordered to have him tied up and used as target practice for the archers. He miraculously survived this ordeal and went to confront Diocletian about his sin of persecuting Christians.

He was then beaten to death with clubs.

This design features a set of flaming arrows and sparks in remembrance of how Saint Sebastian faced potential death at the end of all those arrows.

The back features part of a famous quote from St. Sebastian:

"The devil strains every nerve to secure the souls which belong to Christ. We should not grudge our toil in wresting them from Satan and giving them back to God."
